About METROmilwaukeesm

1997
METROmilwaukeesm was founded to develop and host regional information services when its top level .com domain was registered in August, 1997. Shortly thereafter, the services became inoperable when the hosting provider was arrested and eventually sent to the Wisconsin State Prison in Waupun, Wisconsin. It was then that it was discovered that the hosting provider had registered the domain name in his name. It took some time and effort to restore the domain name to the rightful control of METROmilwaukeesm.
1999
The MetroMilwaukee.com Community Portal was first documented January 25, 1999 by " The Internet Archive WaybackMachine." While our own archives contain pages earlier than those archived by the WaybackMachine, this MetroMilwaukee.com Community Portal Home Page is the first that may be observed using the WaybackMachine.
